Compatible devices
Which devices work with Gamma IPTV?

Device list
Device-by-device compatibility
App availability depends on the device model year and your country's app store. When in doubt, send us the model number before you order.
| Device | Works? | How you watch | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Samsung Smart TV | Yes | Player app from the Samsung app store | Most models from about 2018 onward. Older sets may have fewer apps. |
| LG Smart TV | Yes | Player app from the LG Content Store | Most webOS models from about 2018 onward. |
| Android TV & Google TV | Yes | Player app from Google Play | Includes TVs with Google TV built in and Android TV boxes. The widest app choice. |
| Amazon Fire TV Stick & Cube | Yes | Player app from the Amazon Appstore | Affordable and quick to set up. Keep some storage free. |
| Apple TV | Yes | Player app from the App Store | Apple TV HD and 4K. Smooth and reliable on Ethernet. |
| iPhone & iPad | Yes | Player app from the App Store | AirPlay to a compatible TV works with many apps. |
| Android phones & tablets | Yes | Player app from Google Play | Handy for travel. Watch your mobile data allowance. |
| Windows & Mac computers | Yes | Desktop player app | Good for a second room or a laptop on the go. |
| MAG and other set-top boxes | Ask first | Built-in portal or device activation | Many work with device activation. Send us the model. |
| Roku | Limited | Very few suitable apps | We usually suggest a Fire TV Stick or Android TV device instead. |
| Older or non-smart TVs | Limited | Add a streaming stick via HDMI | Any TV with an HDMI port can work this way. |
Choosing
Buying a device for IPTV? Start here
You do not need anything new if your TV already has a suitable app. If you are buying, these are the trade-offs we explain most often.
Easiest for most TVs
A streaming stick plugged into the HDMI port. Inexpensive, quick to set up, and it brings an up-to-date app store to an older TV.
Best for match days
A streaming box with an Ethernet port, such as an Android TV box or Apple TV. A cable connection is the steadiest way to watch live sport.
Best for travel
A phone, tablet or laptop you already own. Remember your plan's screen limit if someone is watching at home at the same time.

Honest limitations
When a device is not a good fit
- Very old Smart TVsApp stores on sets from before around 2017 often lack suitable player apps or run them slowly.
- Roku devicesVery few compatible player apps. A different streaming stick is the better choice.
- Games consolesPossible with some apps, but not a setup we recommend for everyday viewing.
- Slow or shared connectionsBelow about 10 Mbps, or on busy public Wi-Fi, live channels will struggle on any device.
